Teach about G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCR’s)

May 28, 2012 in Resource for teachers

Students travel into the substructure of the nose down to the molecular level, where they encounter G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs). The diversity of these receptors accounts for differences in our sense of smell, as explored through an interactive smelling of unknowns game. Students will then create their own models of the GPCR structure and learn about mobiles in a fun art activity.
